The Buzz: Since its opening in 2019, Al Salam Community School has expanded the admirable community ethos of its long standing sister school, Al Salam Private School, within an impressive newer campus with excellent facilities, including sports course, science labs and specialist arts and music spaces.

What the KHDA Says: Al Salam Community School has received a Good rating in both its currently published KHDA inspection reports since opening in 2019. The school’s most recently published inspection report, from March 2023, indicates the school has significant strengths, with several key performance standards graded as Very Good or Outstanding.

In terms of the school's strengths, the DSIB inspectors identified these as:

• Students’ mostly good progress in Islamic Education, English, mathematics and science

• Students’ personal development and their excellent awareness of Islamic values and Emirati culture

The Buzz:With a new secondary campus located near to the primary campus, Star International Al Twar now has room to grow. The school also appears to be heading in a very positive direction since being acquired in 2022 by International Schools Partnership, an international school group with over 50 schools in 15 countries. This appears to be a school very much on its way up.

What the KHDA Says:Star International School Al Twar returned to a Good rating in its two most recently published inspection reports in 2022 and 2023, after having been downgraded to Acceptable for two years prior.

The Buzz:A sister school on the other side of the city from the ground-breaking GEMS Founders Al Barsha, the Mizhar school has been open for six years now. The Principal and CEO of GEMS Founders Al Barsha, Mr. Matthew Burfield, has "brand responsibility" for all Founders schools - a third in Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City due to open in 2024. Founders Mizhar appears to be following in the original school’s footsteps in terms of popularity as well as strong improvements being made year or year.
